Workplace Violence - What's at Stake? This presentation provides a summary of the types of workplace violence that may occur and how organizations can recognize, prepare, and train employees and managers. Participants will learn more about: Where workplace violence occurs Aggressor types Types of workplace violence What the statistics tell us Legislative issues How to recognize and respond to behaviors Risk Reduction Strategies This program has been approved for 1 GENERAL credit by the HRCI and SHRM. Speaker Bio: Sean Ahrens is a Practice Leader of Security Consulting and Design at Aon Global Risk Consulting. With over 20 years of experience in the security industry Sean has contributed to numerous security guidelines and standards for the clients that he serves. Most notably: Workplace Violence Prevention and Response Standard, developed by ASIS International and SHRM. Sean is known for his security knowledge, he has provided design and contribution administration for government, public and private entities. Cost: Member/Non-Member/Student $25/$40/$10 Early Bird Rate until February 8, 2016 $30/$45/$15 Regular Registration Rate from February 9 to February 15, 2016 Special Breakout Session: 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm Hostile Intruder Training: How to Protect Your Employees and Organization Hostile Intruder Training will provide HR Professionals and Leaders in an organization good, sound, security awareness training on how to train associates to respond if their facility experiences a hostile intruder. Knowledge gained from this session will assist HR Professionals in writing and implementing an Emergency Preparedness policy and plan for their organization. Participants will learn: What is a Hostile Intruder and why does it matter? Do you know what potential insider and outsider threats your company is exposed to? Can you recognize Suspicious Behaviors and Suspicious Physical Activity? Recognizing Workplace Violence Behaviors Prevention and Training on what to do in a Hostile Intruder Situation Does your organization have an Emergency Preparedness Policy and Plan? You have one for weather and fire, how about this? This program has been approved for 1 GENERAL credit by the HRCI and SHRM. Speaker Bio: Stephen Brown is the Director of Corporate Security at Burns & McDonnell. He is a Certified Protection Professional and a Facility Security Officer. With the increased threats our organizations face in today's environment, does your organization know what to do. Stephen's presentation is centered around the Department of Homeland Security's RUN-HIDE-FIGHT program. Cost: Member/Non-Member/Student $25/$40/$10
