KC Home Solutions was horrible to work with. We have a list of probably 10-15 projects we were looking to work with someone on so this would be a highly profitable relationship for them. The sales person we worked with was extremely difficult to schedule time with to get him to come in and just give us an estimate. The timeframes he offered were extremely narrow and not accommodating to the customer. When I expressed the frustration he became rude. We will never work with this company and it's sad b/c it's their sales guy who has put us off.

I contacted Nick regarding my need to have drywall installed for one entire floor of a house. He had his drywall guy, Jeramy, come give me a estimate and talk me through the job. Jeramy was very professional and really easy to work with. Once they started the job, Jeramy communicated clearly and often about the status of the job, schedules for progress, and arrival times at the house. He and his guys were very neat and careful and minimized mess and impact while they worked even when it necessitated carrying sheet rock through the house to the 3rd story. Throughout the process Nick continued to communicate as needed to ensure everything went smoothly. The job took a little longer than expected due to the quirks of it being a very old house and lots of strange angles and corners, but they communicated and coordinated well to make it happen. A couple extra days was no problem and well worth it for the amazing attention to detail and high quality work that they did. I highly recommend them and would definitely hire them again.

The KC Homes Solutions representative that came to review the potential job was extremely personable. He took the time to inspect the attic dormer space and other areas needing work. Since we indicated we were not in a hurry, he told us it could be up to 2 weeks for a quote. So we waited--after two weeks of silence, I called to follow up. During the Thursday follow up phone call, he did not have any questions and told me the bid would be sent out by COB the next day. But yet again, nothing. It's now one and a 1/2 weeks later (almost a month from the initial visit). I left a message requesting either the bid or a confirmation that KC Home Solutions was not interested in the project. Again, no response. If KC Home Solutions did not want to bid on the job, they should be upfront. For such a highly rated company, it's actions are very disappointing. Note: We hung in there due to KC Home Solution's wonderful Angie's List reviews. Otherwise, we would have moved on earlier.

The project itself went well. A foundation issue with an older, existing addition to my home was found during excavation for the new space. Nick worked with the City and his engineers to formulate a fix. KCHS was able to perform that work and proceed with the original project. The approximate total cost of the project was $60,000.

Perfect! Nick was great to work with and we would highly recommend him for any home improvement. We plan to call him back when we are ready for our next addition or remodel.

The project was large, total $136k+. Time to complete was bid at 3 months and it took 7+ with no urgency to complete on the contractors part. Watch the bids carefully, they will restructure them every time the update it which makes it difficult to follow the $. If you ok a bid then later find a math error, they will refuse to correct it. They will charge for things that they tell you repeatedly are included. The tile guy they use must not really be a tile guy. We have visible seams and very inconsistent grout lines. We had a huge demo with this project and they sent one demo guy to do it. The paint guy took 2+ months and after so much patching we had to insist on a complete second coat. Trash all the time everywhere for the entire 7 months. At one point the owner came by and apologized for the trash and said he would have it taken care of that afternoon. It took 3 days for that to happen. The project manager was rarely here and when he was it was never more than 15 min. Contractors were having to return multiple times because things were not done or done properly. He had my appliances delivered before he had outlets installed so they couldn't be tested. One of which did not work and had to be repaired via maintenance instead of replacing. They are nice guys and our house looks much better but the journey was tough and the quality poor. I could not recommend this company.

KC Solutions performs excellent work and is very professional with great customer service. Their primary goal was to ensure I was please with the work performed and I was.

Nick and his team did a great job and everything turned out fantastic. We would recommend Nick and his team to anyone who is wanting a great job done and something unique and original.

Excellent work quality, always open to your ideas and desires, they have their own employees that do the framing, the rest is subcontracted out.

No complaints. I changed my mind a hundred times and they just rolled with it and figured out how to make certain we were completely happy with the finished project. Our home is stunning. They were incredibly personable and respectful of our home and our family. We have a two year old who loved to be in the middle of everything and they were always patient and willing to give him a little extra attention. Don't look anywhere else, you'be found the right contractor.

We obtained 3 estimates, KC Home Solutions was not the least expensive but from looking at the examples of their work on their website we felt that they might do good work. We made a good choice. They subcontracted out the work except for framing, they have their own framers who do outstanding work. They appear to be perfectionists. I have done some framing so I am not completely ignorant. I did finish a basement 30 years ago in a different part of the country and toyed with the idea of trying to do it myself, but I'm glad I didn't. I always said that I would be disappointed with the work that anyone else did so I would rather do it myself. But I'm glad to say that I was wrong! It turned out great. KC Home Solutions uses contractors that do the quality of work that they desire or they won't have them work again. There are always minor issues that need to be addressed and they make sure that they are fixed to their and our satisfaction. Over and over they would say "...whatever you want..." The have very friendly outgoing personnel that truly seem to care about the quality of work that is done. I highly recommend. I know that statement means nothing without qualification. Everybody has different standards, expectations, opinions, etc. I am somewhat of a perfectionist, a type A personality, a retired Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Originally scheduled for Monday. Called on Friday to confirm, found out they were not going to be there until Tuesday. The contractor was aware of the schedule I had with painters and going out of town. The initial estimate was a 3 day job. I have a flower garden in front of the window. I realized that some of the plants may get damaged. I asked the contractor to do all he could to avoid this. Didn't work. Watched as the workers dropped wood right onto the plants as if they didn't care. Watched the worker talking on his phone as he was on the ladder working. The drywall part of this job took an additional 3 days, that was not explained to me in the beginning. The dry wall guy did a great job. The last person at the house was there to trim out the inside window. Arrived with no material. Did an average job. Wide joints, trim edges not matching up. Finally, no walk through with the project manager. Received a text from him originally that he would be buy yo get the check, which I expected to do a walk through at that time. Instead, he texted me asking me to give the check to the person doing the trim work.

We interviewed several contractors for our remodel job. Most gave us a ball park estimate without any detail. Two gave us detailed estimates. The estimate from KC Home Solutions (KCHS) was very detail and easy to understand. Nick was very easy to work with and very patient with us as we made several changes that needed to be reflected in the estimate as our project evolved. Nick had several good ideas that we incorporated in our project. Our start date was set for two months from the time we signed the KCHS bid. We received detail drawings of our project for our review before the project started. The project started right on time. Jason the project manager arrived first thing in the morning on the day the project started. He discussed with us what we could expect over the next six to eight weeks. Jason is an outstanding communicator both with the customer and the workers. At each phase he met with us and the subcontractor to go over exactly what was to be done. His through communication helped assure problems were kept to a minimum. Jason made sure everything was done the way we wanted it. I’m a perfectionist but so is Jason…..He has very high work standards. His rough in carpenter Rod and Pedro did outstanding work. The sub contractors were all highly skilled and very courteous. Jason ran a tight schedule and something happened almost every day. The project was completed in eight week on scheduled. Jason always took care of any issues to our satisfaction. The quality of the work was outstanding. We used a lot of marble and polished nickel. The tile work, cabinetry, woodwork etc had perfect fit and finish. I can’t say enough about the quality of the work that was done and how great everyone was to work with during this project.

A truly professional group that were fun, helpful, and considerate from start to finish. Always open to ideas and questions. Within an hour of our initial consultation Nick Vaughn was sending me Houzz pics that perfectly depicted my ideas and style! They were always available and were never going to settle for less that perfect. We would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you KC Home Solutions for seeing our vision and making it a reality.

Very well. The tear out was done in one day. The electrical work was done (Teague Electric) shortly afterward and the walls and ceilings were finished soon after that. The drywall was done by Jeremy Wrinkle. The whole process was finished quickly and professionally. KC Home Solutions managed the process very well. There was only one little problem; one of the workmen dented the top of the dryer, but they replaced it without any hassles. I am very satisfied with KC Home Solutions.

Overall, things went great. Nick was very responsive during the bid process. He was very helpful in coming up with a design that fit out needs and their price was right in line with other contractors we quoted. They also stayed on budget very well, with the exception of the allocated tile budget (quoted $4/sq ft budget but nothing was available in that price range). Jason kept the project moving forward and was very responsive to any request we had. We had a tight timeline to work in and he kept everyone on schedule and finished things up on time. All the sub-contractors they worked with were very professional and did quality work. Overall, we had a great experience and love our new basement!

After watching so many TV shows on nightmare contractors, I came into the partnership with a unfair distrust. I liked the KC Home Solutions crew from the moment we started talking to them at the home show. I had been planning this basement finish for so long, and there were many emotional ties that were part of the project. I was so afraid of being another nightmare story, It took about 2 weeks into the actual work that I finally got these guys know their stuff. As stressed out as I might get through out the process, I want to say every time I talked to Nick the owner, I felt better and knew we had made the right choice. Framing for the entire space was done in a day and half and the owner Nick was on site to start. The electricians were awesome and gave me everything I asked for. The plumbing was laid out all in one day and that included breaking the cement floor. I would hire Nick and KC Home Solutions again. That being said I think like any construction project there are always challenges. We finished about 1400 sq ft of an 1800 sq ft basement so it was no tiny project. Every subcontractor or vendor KC Home Solutions use are top notch. Wood work, tile, flooring, electricians, and plumbers. Basically any trade that shows up with a real logo on their vehicle is going to produce good stuff. Where I think we ran into challenges were with drywall and painters. They are less skilled labor and more manual labor. I have checked this with other contractors... it is really hard to find a good long lasting crew for this kind of work. We felt they rushed and were a bit sloppy so extra work needed to be done to finish it right. The thing about it is that Nick and his guys they will fix any issue and make it right. One other criticism that we have is that the time management for our project seemed to be challenging and control of the timeline could have been managed better, we went about 2-3 weeks longer than we should have. As frustrating as that was, we stayed in contact with Nick and everyone involved, our got basement finished and it is amazing. I trust Nick and would have him back. We recently had to replace a kitchen faucet, and we contacted Nick so we could use the plumbers who did our basement work. Something different about our job is that I had almost 95% designed and selected prior to hiring KC Home Solutions. This included the floor plan and layout. When it was all finished it looked almost exactly like what I had spent 3 years dreaming and designing. When my family sees the completed pictures they say it perfectly matches what I had attempted to describe to them. I think this is a positive for Nick and his crew, as they listened, and were able take what I dreamed up on paper and made it a reality. Even though I brought the design to my project, I believe they have a good design aesthetic and if you don't have anything designed or you just have a general outline of what you want, this crew can give you something you never expected and you will be thoroughly happy with the finished results. I have one last tip, it is good to have ideas or general thoughts on color and such, but I recommend visiting their vendors for tile, fixtures and such to see what they have before you get yourself committed to something you saw on Houzz or at a big box store.KC Home Solutions uses Vendors that have quality products that you will want to use and it makes the process quicker and easier. One caveat to that, unless it truly is an inferior product (and Nick will take the time to explain why he doesn't recommend using it) they will incorporate anything you want.

Overall the remodel went very well. It took about 8 weeks to complete, which was exactly as estimated during the bid process. We did have one issue with the glass shower enclosure not being installed as requested. Finished product is still very nice, but just not exactly as we had discussed with the company. I would get everything in writing if I used the company again. All workers were very professional and quality of work was very good. Remodelers showed up as promised, and they did a good job of keeping us informed as to where they were in the process. I would use this company again for future remodel projects.

We recently hired KC Home Solutions to finish our basement. From the first interaction with the company we knew that KC Home Solutions was a different breed of contractor. Nick V. came to our house to get measurements for an estimate and he was incredibly engaging and friendly. Soon after Nick's visit my son wound up in the hospital and, before we hired KC Home Solutions, Nick reached out to see how he was doing. When Nick sent the bid it was very competitive and we knew that KC Home Solutions was who we wanted to work on our house. From the first day when Nick S. showed up with the framing crew we knew we had hired the right company. KC Home Solutions is professional, efficient, punctual, respectful and they do really great work. Everyone who entered our house treated it as if it was their own. During the project KC Home Solutions made some great design recommendations that we hadn't thought of that helped make the finished product even better. I guess one of the best compliments I can pay KC Home Solutions is that when the project was over I was actually disappointed that Jason and the team would not be coming over any more. Over the course of about 7 weeks they practically became family. Even the dog wouldn't bark at them when they came into the house! We wound up finishing the project on time and just over budget, but that was because we added a few non budgeted items during the course of the renovation. I have recommended KC Home Solutions to numerous friends and neighbors. If you are looking for a contractor who is detail oriented, professional, respectful and punctual then look no further. Our bathroom was a HUGE make-over, taking a sorely outdated look, and turned it into an amazing personal retreat/spa! The detailing and work looks amazing. KC Home Solutions worked with us along the way as we made some tweaks/changes to some original plans, as well as making important decisions with some details as those portions of the project came up. We went with some "insets" in our tile in both our shower and over our soaker tub, and the placement and size were discussed and determined to our desire. Ideas were collaboratively shared between us, as the home owner, and KCHS to find our likes and taste, while also considering additional ideas in the area of remodel. Our waterfall tile feature in our expanded shower and the inset over our soaker tub are truly the focal points of the room which were our desired outcome. The craftsmanship of new vanity built by their recommended vendor is also a beautiful piece we absolutely love with so much more storage! KCHS was always accessible, responding to any items or questions we had regarding our remodel whether it was through email, phone, or text. We solicited a handful of bids for this project and found theirs to be very competitive and professional. As a business owner myself my main goal was never to just hire the cheapest contractor, as I know that is rarely the best route to take if you want great work. I was more concerned with quality and with being able to trust the people who would be spending all summer in my home, since I work from home and also stay home with my kids. All of the guys at KC Home Solutions were incredibly friendly and had great ideas to improve our project. They all responded quickly to any emails, texts, or calls I made to them. Jason, our project manager, was meticulous about everything, which I for sure appreciated given the size of the project. We are thrilled with our new bathroom and the other improvements they made to our home and will definitely be hiring them in the future for other projects we have planned. We've also given their names out to several neighbors in older homes like ours who have been looking to do similar remodels.

From the first visit with Nick Shepard (president) I had a great feeling about the project. He understood what we wanted to do and offered some great additional ideas/insights that made the finished project even better. He totally respected our budget and was willing to work with me on modifications to the bid several times and provide detailed breakdown of the cost of different options before we even signed a contract. It was clear from the start that they really wanted our business and held client satisfaction as a top priority. The job started on time and I can't say enough good things about all the guys who were in and out of our house for the 10 week span. The core KC Home Solutions crew (Nick S., Jason, Pedro, Nick C.) are a great group of guys. Very respectful of our home and also really friendly when my kids would ask questions or want to check out the progress. Its clear that they are all family guys and I loved that! They cleaned up each evening way beyond what I expected. Jason was our project manager and was readily reachable by phone/text/email for any questions or concerns. It's a growing company and I could tell that they are busy with several projects, however, I never felt neglected or left out of the loop, and the work was completed at a very efficient pace. He has a great attention to detail and quality and I felt confident that things were getting done the right way. My dad is a home builder/carpenter and I admittedly have high standards, and these guys did not disappoint. (My dad approves of the job, too!) The subcontractors by and large did great work as well. Any minor issues needing attention or touch up were addressed efficiently. We experienced only one big 'hiccup' with the project, due to an incorrect order placed by the tile supplier that resulted in the wrong color of grout being installed. KCHS worked to address the mistake and find a resolution that was favorable to us, and I always felt like they were in our corner when there was some push back from the supplier. In the end the grout was stained the darker color we had initially chosen, and it looks great. Our top priority for finishing our basement was to give it the look and feel of the main level of our home. We have a lot of nice trim work and finishes that I wanted to replicate as closely as possibly downstairs. We envisioned this as more of an expansion of our home vs. just 'extra' room or a rec room tucked away in the basement. KC Home Solutions went above and beyond to make sure our vision was achieved. We've hosted some get-togethers since completion and several people have commented on how nice the trim and other details look downstairs. We are beyond happy with how it turned out! I would definitely recommend KC Home solutions and we very likely will hire them again in the coming years for future remodeling projects in our home.

Nick worked hard to keep the costs within our budget. I very much appreciated his flexibility in adjusting plans as we went in order to accommodate both my wallet and my wishes. The crew leader, Jason, was in touch with me daily. Except for one day when I asked them not to be here, workmen - from their own crew or subcontracted - were here every day until the job was done, which was within the three-week time frame we'd agreed on. They were a fun bunch, polite, and cleaned up after each day's work. They took pride in their craft. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

KC Home Solutions finished the bathroom in our recently renovated basement. We had roughed in plumbing and finished walls. We needed to have a custom tile shower pan, a custom bench seat, tile on shower walls & bench, tile bathroom floors and install the shower doors. The project went smoothly and his crew always cleaned up behind themselves. My wife and I are both very happy with the finished product. Their work was first rate and the price was very competitive. They stayed on budget and on schedule throughout the project. Thanks Nick!!
