The Escher String Quartet will serve as artists-in-residence for the 2022 Heartland Chamber Music Festival at the Midwest Trust Center. Program: Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 76, No. 4 “Sunrise” by Joseph Haydn Quartet No. 3, Sz. 85 by Béla Bartók Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 51 by Antonin Dvorák A former BBC New Generation Artist, the quartet has performed at the BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall and is a regular guest at Wigmore Hall. In its hometown of New York City, the ensemble serves as Season Artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS), where it has presented the complete Zemlinsky Quartets Cycle. Escher is one of five quartets chosen to collaborate in a complete presentation of Beethoven’s string quartets. Last season, the quartet toured with CMS to China.
