• U.S. Department of Labor – Employee Benefits Security Administration will cover tax advantages of certain retirement plans, what types of plans are available to small businesses (under 100 employees), incentives for setting up a retirement plan and things to consider when selecting which type of plan for a small business.
• The Kansas Small Business Development Center (Kansas SBDC) helps you plan, manage, grow and transition your business and will discuss current opportunities for you to get involved to improve your business results.

Olathe Community Prayer Breakfast Hosts American Hero, Pilot Tammie Jo Shults

The annual Olathe Community Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Veterans Day, Friday, November 11^th and will feature guest speaker Tammi Jo Shults. Captain Shults became one of the first female fighter pilots to serve in the United States Navy. Following a successful military career, she became a pilot for Southwest Airlines. Shults is best known as the heroic captain who safely landed Southwest Flight 1380 after the aircraft suffered engine failure in April 2018.

This year’s event begins at 7:00am at the Cook Center on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Individual tickets are $59; early bird tickets on sale for $49 until October 15th. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Olathe Mayor’s Children’s Fund.
