Event Description: Which of the five finalists of OCTA’s New Works Playwright Competition will get a full-length workshop for their script? You’ll see short teasers of each script, then vote for the winner. Make your voice count and support the local playwriting community at the same time! WHO: Olathe Civic Theatre Association will soon announce the five finalists (semi-finalists’ scripts are being reviewed now) whose work will be showcased during the theatre’s New Works Playwright Competition March 2 and 3. WHAT: The New Works Playwright Competition is a unique opportunity for local playwrights to get their names out in the community and have a chance to workshop their production on the OCTA stage. WHY: OCTA continues to seek ways to provide aspiring artists opportunities to grow. We feel our unique space and collaborative spirit can provide a safe environment for aspiring playwrights to be heard. TICKETS are available online now. Tickets: $10 online or at the door (*$5 FOR OCTA SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AT THE DOOR ONLY, but please call ahead to reserve your spot). *Season Ticket Holders get a special $5 ticket for this event, but must purchase tickets at the box office.
