Event Description: Celebrate National Drinking Water Week with the City of Olathe and WaterOne! The second annual Tower 2 Tower 5K event supports Water for People, a non-profit that works to provide clean and safe drinking water to countries who need it most. Run or walk with the entire family, or in a team! If you're up to the challenge, don your best costume to be eligible for the best dressed award! The Tower 2 Tower 5K starts at 8:00 a.m. A free kids run begins at 8:55 a.m. The route takes participants from WaterOne's water tower, south on Renner to Olathe's north tower, and back. Educational activities about water, and touch-a-truck opportunities will also be available! Each participant will receive a reusable water bottle, t-shirt, and a participation medal. Special awards will be given to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as the top male and female finishers over 40 years of age. Medals will also be given to the top male and female in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, 100% of your registration fee will be donated to the non-profit Water For People! In 2016, more than $6,000 was donated to the organization from the 5K!
